You will lead test engineering activities across the program lifecycle, from requirements definition and test planning through test readiness, execution, data analysis, and final product acceptance.\n\nYou will serve as a technical authority and primary test engineering representative to program leadership, customers, and cross-functional engineering organizations. You will lead and provide technical oversight to a team of test engineers while independently solving complex technical problems and developing innovative test solutions for advanced infrared sensor systems.\n\nYour responsibilities will include:\n\nServe as the IPT Test Engineering Lead, providing technical leadership and overall ownership of test engineering activities across the program lifecycle.\nLead the development of comprehensive test strategies, test plans, procedures, schedules, and requirements for complex infrared sensor hardware and systems.\nPlan and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and other technical reviews, ensuring hardware, software, facilities, instrumentation, procedures, personnel, and data systems are ready to support testing.\nLead test execution and technical decision-making for functional, performance, environmental, characterization, qualification, and production testing.\nProvide technical oversight and direction to a team of approximately 10 test engineers, establishing priorities, resolving technical issues, and ensuring execution against program objectives.\nWork under broad, consultative direction to independently identify technical challenges, establish approaches, and determine courses of action necessary to achieve program objectives.\nDevelop and implement innovative test methodologies, architectures, instrumentation, automation, and data-analysis techniques to solve unusually complex technical problems.\n\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years or more of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree; or 6 years of professional experience with a related PhD\nDemonstrated experience leading test engineering activities for complex hardware or sensor systems.\nDemonstrated experience developing and executing test strategies, test plans, Test Readiness Reviews, and complex test campaigns.\nExperience providing technical leadership and oversight of engineering teams.\nDemonstrated ability to independently solve complex technical problems and develop innovative engineering solutions.\nExperience presenting technical information and recommendations to program leadership and customers.\nExperience working across multidisciplinary engineering organizations including systems, hardware, software, manufacturing, and quality.\nExperience with laboratory instrumentation, automated test systems, data acquisition, and technical data analysis.\n\n* Must be a US Citizen as this position will require a Secret Clearance.\nDesired Skills\n\n• Experience operating and testing any variety of photo-detector/sensor (Infrared, Visible, UV, X-Ray, Gamma Ray, LIDAR)\n\n• Technical Mentorship Experience\n\n• Project Management experience (project planning), team leadership, or working with budgetary estimates\n\n• Electronic troubleshooting of digital and analog electronics.\n\n• Firmware, Embedded Software, FPGA Experience\n\n**Active DoD Security Clearance.\n\nPay Information\n\nFull-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00\n\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
