Managing Director, Digital Finance
MD of Digital Finance – OverviewLead our finance digital transformation as a high-visibility leadership role. The Managing Director will own the modernization of workflow, the migration to a Snowflake infrastructure, and ensure that financial data is accurate, high-fidelity, and actionable for TMX's global strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesChampion and evolve Workday as the foundational system of record, ensuring seamless data capture, optimal straight-through-processing, and dynamic integration with downstream data environments.Partner with enterprise technology teams to implement the financial data platform on Snowflake, creating a secure, scalable single source of truth for all global TMX entities.Build and own a clear multi-year roadmap for the data and insight platforms across finance.Lead the transition from manual data gathering to real-time data pipelines, and self-service analytics, reducing time-to-insight.Build and maintain the financial semantic layer to enable generative AI, machine learning, user self-service, predictive forecasting, and anomaly detection.Generate analytics use cases, test hypotheses at scale, and deliver systematic reporting on core enterprise drivers.Establish modern visualization standards (e.g., Quicksight) for interactive, predictive dashboards.Deploy generative AI use cases within Finance to automate narrative reporting and complex document synthesis.Partner closely with Finance Business Partners and BU data experts to craft solutions for senior leadership.Promote a culture of analytical curiosity, coach and upskill the wider team.Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated team of 2-3 data professionals and work with resources from the central enterprise data team.Optimize the format and delivery of financial insights to business leaders across TMX.Qualifications – Must Have12+ years of experience with strong financial analysis skills and research.Professional designation (CFA, CPA) or MBA.Strong organizational, analytical and conceptual skills.Relationship builder and collaborator; effective positive management style.Robust technical acumen in data management, governance and tools such as statistical analysis, Snowflake, data warehousing, data mining, data engineering, Python, R, SQL, and Excel (pivot tables, model building, model auditing).Ability to work effectively across organizational lines and promote a team-based environment.Results oriented with ability to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to audience, client-centric.Self-starter able to manage large volumes of change in ambiguous environments.Qualifications – Nice to HavePrevious experience in the software industry or capital markets.Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning or Workday Financials and integration with Snowflake.Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).Benefits & PerksHybrid work model: 2-3 days per week in the Toronto office.Opportunity to work with emerging technologies and shape the future of global markets.Growth and advancement opportunities within a leading global exchange.Wellness initiatives, flexible workstyle, and generous time-off.Inclusive culture that values diversity and belonging.EEO StatementTMX is committed to creating and sustaining a collegial work environment in which all individuals are treated with dignity and respect and one which reflects the diversity of the community in which we operate.
