(AIE) is seeking a Controller to join our corporate Finance team in an on‑site capacity in Middletown, Connecticut. This role oversees accounting and financial operations, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, compliance and audits and many other responsibilities within the financial operations of the company.\nThe ideal candidate is a highly skilled and detail‑oriented professional with a strong foundation in corporate finance and compliance, preferably with experience in the architecture, engineering or construction services industry. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with cross‑functional teams and oversee financial strategy, accounting processes and ensuring corporate compliance.\nAIE offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including health benefits, 401(k) with company match, competitive PTO, ESOP program, and opportunities for professional growth within an ENR‑500 firm.\nRequirements / Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree, accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field\nMaster’s degree, in business or finance is preferred\nCertified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred\nExperience working with financial or accounting software such as Ajera or Deltek preferred\nResponsibilities\nManage the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and tax compliance\nPrepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations\nDevelop and implement cash management policies, manage investments following legal and company policies, minimize idle funds\nInstall and maintain internal control systems to support financial policies and meet state/federal requirements\nLead budget development, monitoring and variance analysis\nCoordinate with auditors and external accounting services to ensure adherence to tax, financial reporting and other regulatory standards\nUse integrated financial systems for reporting and analysis as well as process improvement\nPartner with operations, procurement, and management to support cost control, pricing and profitability\nSkills & Abilities\nStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to think critically about processes, systems, and workflows\nHigh attention to detail and a strong commitment to data quality and integrity\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment\nEffective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders\nCollaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams and disciplines\nDemonstrates sound judgment and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues\nAbout AI Engineers, Inc.\nAIE is a multi-disciplinary, ENR-500 company with 13 offices in the U.S and over 350 employees.
