This role requires deep systems administration expertise combined with strong ownership of enterprise CI/CD platforms, repository management, developer productivity, and application security tooling ecosystems.\n\nSuccessful applicants will demonstrate the ability to balance operational stability with continuous improvement and be able to communicate complex systems to stakeholders.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nServe as a subject matter expert in Linux systems administration, including performance tuning, OS hardening, and advanced troubleshooting\n\nArchitect, install, configure, and maintain production and non-production systems supporting enterprise application delivery and security platforms\n\nDesign, maintain, and optimize enterprise CI/CD pipelines with emphasis on CloudBees Jenkins and GitHub Actions administration, automation, integrations, credential management, and platform scalability\n\nAdminister and optimize key enterprise platforms including:\n\nCI/CD platforms (CloudBees Jenkins, GitHub Actions)\n\nWork management systems (Jira)\n\nSource control and collaboration tools (GitHub, GitHub Enterprise)\n\nArtifact repositories (JFrog Artifactory)\n\nAdminister and support software supply chain security and DevSecOps tooling, including:\n\nNexus IQ Firewall\n\nJFrog Xray\n\nGitHub Advanced Security (GHAS)\n\nEnsure platforms and processes meet security, audit, and compliance requirements, including SOC and SOX controls\n\nDesign and implement automation to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency\n\nLead incident response efforts, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and long‑term remediation\n\nMaintain and support Kubernetes containerized workloads where applicable\n\nDevelop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar\n\nParticipate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation supporting critical enterprise platforms\n\nRequirements\n\nBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent work experience\n\n8+ years of experience in systems engineering, site reliability engineering, or systems administration in enterprise environments\n\nExpert‑level experience with Linux/Unix systems administration in production environments\n\nHands‑on experience administering:\n\nCloudBees Jenkins/GitHub Actions (CI/CD pipeline administration, scaling, and maintenance)\n\nGitHub / GitHub Enterprise (repository management, access controls, integrations)\n\nJira (project configuration, workflows, automation)\n\nArtifactory (repository management and artifact lifecycle)\n\nExperience administering application delivery and security tools (such as Nexus IQ, Xray, or GitHub Advanced Security)\n\nStrong understanding of SOC and SOX compliance frameworks, including audit controls and evidence management\n\nProven experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code (such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef)\n\nStrong scripting and programming skills (such as Python, Bash, or similar)\n\nSolid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)\n\nExperience operating and troubleshooting container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker)\n\nExperience with monitoring and observability tools (such as Prometheus, ELK, Nagios, or similar)\n\nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, cross‑platform production issues\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience implementing DevSecOps practices and secure CI/CD pipelines\n\nExperience with enterprise platform engineering supporting developer productivity and secure software delivery\n\nFamiliarity with identity and access management systems (LDAP, SSO, RBAC models)\n\nExperience with private cloud or virtualization platforms (such as OpenStack, VMware, or similar)\n\nKnowledge of vulnerability management, patching strategies, and system hardening best practices\n\nExperience working in regulated or compliance‑driven environment\n\nThis position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a hybrid work schedule.\n\nThe pay range is $135,800 - $183,800.\n\nThe anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience.
