Responsible for programing and fixture designs and flow for new parts, initial setup and validate new processes. This involves overseeing the efficiency and safety of our current manufacturing processes, as well as developing new processes to improve manufacturing efficiency or decrease costs. Needs to be an expert with regards to production equipment and understand how to operate, change the settings, and optimize machine utilization.\n\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nLead and support engineering activities on mass production assembly lines, include robotic, conveyorized and bench assembling method.\nImprove quality, reduce change over time and complexity, and production efficiency by working with cross functional team using problem solving tools such as lean A3.5-Why, lean six sigma.\nDrive systematic continuous improvement by using lean and automation manufacturing technologies such as robotics (Fanuc) & Vision, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), electronic process recipe management.\nManage and implement new process changes driven from product changes and new product launches.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nEducation & Experience\nAssociate degree in mechanical engineering and / or 10 years of industrial assembly experience or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years with industrial assembly experience.\nProficient in draw process layouts using 2- and 3-dimensional design software such Auto Cad and Creo.\nGood understanding of Statistical Process Controls (SPC).\nGood Understanding of GD&T (Geometrical Dimensional and Tolerancing).\nTier1 automotive assembly experience is preferred.\nHands on lean manufacturing and data analytics experience.\nHands on Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred.\nReasoning & Decision-Making Ability:\nStrong mechanical aptitude.\nAbility to evaluate processes, equipment capability, design for manufacturability (DFM).\nOther Skills & Abilities\nData Analytic using Excel and other advance analytical tools such as JMP.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong problem solving and decision-making skills.\nAbility to communicate with others at a technical level clearly.\nEnvironmental & Physical Demands\nDuties are split between an office environment and the manufacturing floor, with frequent exposure to unpleasant or harsh conditions.\nDuties require sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.\nOccupational noise exposure during performance of some required duties. Adequate hearing protection is provided and required at key locations.\nOccupational exposure to fumes and dust is encountered during performance of some required duties. Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses and steel-toed, industrial footwear is required at key locations.\nEmployee is occasionally required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.\nEmployee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n\nEmployer will not sponsor visas for position.
