The Supervisor leads, trains, and develops hourly team members to accurately receive, validate, and ship products in alignment with specified requirements. This position will be responsible for developing work group standard for performance to measure and improve productivity, efficiency, and accuracy while following distribution standard operating procedures. Additionally, this position will resolve time-sensitive issues for expedited shipments and receipts.\n\nEssential Duties\n\nSupervises employee staffing, training, work activities, and development of employees, fostering a positive and motivating work atmosphere.\nCreates daily receiving and shipping schedules according to company and customer’s requirements, route, weight, and cost.\nDevelops and upholds procedures to ensure company and delivery commitments are met by efficiently managing labor and materials.\nVerifies shipped materials against relevant documentation.\nRecommends and supports implementation of operational procedures to drive continuous improvement.\nCollaborates with management and human resources on employment actions such as hiring, discipline, performance evaluations, and promotions.\nProvides feedback to the site leader regarding staff for annual performance evaluations.\nBuilds morale by resolving conflicts and addressing employee concerns, escalating issues to upper management if needed.\nCompletes work duties, including operating forklifts and collaborating on tasks with the distribution team.\nMaintains a visible presence on the floor to identify opportunities for process enhancements and allocate resources promptly to address any shortcomings, ensuring the fulfillment of customer service expectations.\nFacilitates transfers between distribution facilities as required.\nConducts audits to ensure compliance with replenishment processes, verifying transaction accuracy.\nValidates the correctness of inbound put-away locations and system transactions through regular audits.\nInvestigates location discrepancies, identifies root causes, and resolves issues to maintain inventory and picking location accuracy.\nManages inventory supplies to guarantee that adequate quantitates are available to meet operational requirements\nInitiates and oversees cycle counts, performs counts, and finalizes them promptly, including those requested by auditors.\nCoordinates the rework of damaged products and ensures accurate inventory adjustments.\nEnsures a safe work environment in alignment with OSHA, 5S, and other regulatory standards.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements\n\nRequired\nHigh School Diploma/GED\n4 – 6 years experience in a distribution and/or manufacturing environment, including 1 – 2 years of experience in a supervisory role\nCertification in forklift or willingness to obtain certification\nHAZMAT Certification or ability to become certified\nProficient in computer software such as Microsoft Office, warehouse management systems (WMS), and JDE systems\nKnowledge of inventory management, planning, and supply chain functions\nStrong analytical, planning, and organizational skills\nAbility to multi-task and manage priorities based on management and customer requirements\nExperience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.\nProactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail.\nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written\nValid Driver’s License\n\nPreferred\n\nKey Competencies\n\nInter-Relationships\n\nConsistent interaction with other hourly production/distribution team members and management.
