This position offers an opportunity for a graduate student to gain valuable experience in academic administration, event coordination, and student engagement. If sufficiently qualified, the Honors Program GA may work entirely remotely. The position is for up to 12 hours a week (for up to 6 hours of credit hour tuition remission per semester) during the 2026-2027 academic year.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nAssist the Honors Program Director in administrative tasks such as organizing students files and spreadsheets, scheduling meetings, and managing correspondence.\n\nMaintain accurate records and databases related to Honors Program activities and student participation.\n\nAssist in the planning, organization, and execution of social or community engagement events for the Honors Program.\n\nServe as a point of contact for Honors Program students, providing reminders of important dates, deadlines, and procedures.\n\nAttend and facilitate discussions and group activities during Honors Seminars\n\nAssist the Honors Program Director and Steering Committee in teaching and research, as needed and if available during free hours.\n\nQualifications:\n\nCurrently enrolled in a graduate program at the institution as a domestic student. International students are not eligible for graduate assistantships\n\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\n\nGood written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively.\n\nInterested in and committed to supporting the goals and objectives of the Honors Program.\n\nSuccessful candidates should showcase their work and experience in contributing to a climate that supports a diverse student body, serves first-generation college students, multilingual learners, and contributions to equity and social justice through their work.\n\nThe Community:\nKansas City, a two-state metropolitan area with a population of nearly two million, offers a wide variety of cultural, educational and social life opportunities.
