The Lead Engineer will identify, lead, and drive change within operations through data‑driven CI, engineering, and automation efforts to deliver higher levels of performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.\n\nEssential Functions\n\nCollect data and perform statistical analysis; map and document processes; independently identify process gaps; recommend and implement improvements. Develop and execute a continuous improvement plan to drive value for customers.\n\nManage and complete high‑impact CI projects that improve business results. Assess initiatives and recommend future activities. Support startups, retrofits and expansions including pricing inputs, go‑live, and steady‑state certifications. Identify and support automation projects. Interact regularly with account management and/or customers.\n\nDemonstrate competency in engineering methods, lean tools, and quality standards; coach employees on CI, QA, and lean principles. Apply tools such as product slotting, labor studies, flow optimization, data profiling, and resource modeling to improve distribution and/or transportation operations.\n\nMay supervise continuous improvement engineering and quality professionals; participate in hiring, coaching, and performance management.\n\nFacilitate value‑stream maps and Kaizen events through all stages (A3 charter ideation, pre‑work, delivery, sustainment). Coach process owners in lean methods.\n\nProvide regular reports of data and actions, measure progress against site objectives, and make inventory and/or supply chain strategy recommendations.\n\nAdditional Responsibilities\n\nDesign, implement, monitor and maintain a QMS based on established standards.\n\nImplement and monitor a standardized corrective action system.\n\nSupport regulatory compliance and certification requirements.\n\nPerform all functions related to QA for a start‑up or expansion.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nSkills and Abilities\n\nMicrosoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) expert.\n\nData visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX) intermediate.\n\nProficiency in developing and managing Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, PDCA, Value‑Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S/Workplace Organization.\n\nAdvanced understanding of core engineering and data analysis functions.\n\nAdvanced proficiency in warehouse design tools: CAD, slotting, MOST, WMS, labor management systems.\n\nKnowledge of warehouse operations, data analytics, industrial engineering, warehouse layout/design, and lean methods.\n\nKnowledge of material handling solutions and automation types (PIT, racking, packaging equipment, conveyor, AS/RS).\n\nKnowledge of Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks.\n\nKnowledge of equipment types: dry van, temperature control, flat bed, etc.\n\nAdvanced knowledge of transportation design tools (JDA, Appian, Llamasoft, OTM, Tableau).\n\nLean Six Sigma certification required.\n\ncPMP, ISO/QMS, and APICS/Supply Chain Logistics certification preferred.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain plus 7+ years of related work experience; or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain with 5+ years experience (MBA requires undergraduate engineering).\n\nExpert Microsoft Office skills (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).\n\nIntermediate data visualization and database programming skills.\n\nProficient in developing and managing Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, PDCA, Value‑Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S.\n\nAdvanced experience in core engineering and data analysis functions.\n\nAdvanced proficiency in warehouse design tools and automation solutions.\n\nKnowledge of dedicated services, transportation networks, and various equipment types.\n\nLean Six Sigma required; cPMP, ISO/QMS, APICS/Supply Chain certifications preferred.\n\nTravel\n50% travel required.
