Engineering experience gained after earning an ABET-accredited degree and prior to earning a professional engineer's license (e.g., as an engineer intern applicant, engineer intern, or equivalent) will be accepted as professional level engineering experience.\n\nApplications will be accepted from persons licensed to practice professional engineering in states other than Louisiana. Licensing requirements may be viewed at www.lapels.com.\nJob Specification\nThe official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.\nJob Duties and Other Information\nJob Duties:\nServes as primary technical advisor to Materials Engineer Administrator in handling complex, multi-faceted, statewide issues, especially those affecting Quality Assurance.\nProvides specialized assistance and leadership in developing policies, procedures and specifications applicable to statewide engineering materials programs.\nAssists with administrative matters such as budget, personnel, and organization.\nServes as administrator for 20 people, and as supervisor and technical advisor for the Engineer 6's responsible for the Geotechnical, Aggregates, Physical, Cement, and Adhesives Lab Units.\nServes as Lab facilities manager, overseeing construction work and maintenance work for buildings and property. Manages personnel, funding, documentation, planning and contingencies for capital outlay projects on premises. Supervises work to electrical, gas, and mechanical systems, property surveys, flooring, ductwork, paint, insulation, landscaping, etc ...
