UX Production Designer

Purple, Rock, Scissors has an exciting opportunity for an experienced UX Production Designer with a heavy focus on Design Systems to support a large tech client of ours. These roles support the payments team within the organization. Payments is the central source for payments design styles, tokens, components and templates that partner teams can use to deliver features within the payments ecosystem. They aim to simplify the launch process and enable internal teams to create simple, modern, and cohesive experiences. To achieve this mission they provide design resources including a Figma sticker sheet, design guidelines documentation, and more, across all products.Contract: Full Time, Remote, EST or PST hours preferred. 40 hours per week contract, April 2026 through June 30, 2026 with the opportunity to extend.Will require extensive onboarding, background/education/employment checks, and credentialing.These roles are UX-focused production design roles that will develop component designs and work collaboratively with Product Managers and Engineering throughout implementation. Additionally, this team of designers will be responsible for developing design guidelines, in collaboration with the writing team, to publish in a design guidelines website.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate robust, coherent, and scalable design system components that support product needs across multiple devices, platforms, and brand expressions Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Engineering, Product, Content, Research) to present ideas and deliver thoughtful design solutions Partner with engineering to ensure accurate implementation of components across web and mobile experiences Work with writers and content partners to author, refine, and maintain system documentation and content standards Partner with research to validate design decisions and ensure solutions meet user needs and accessibility standards Triage and manage incoming requests for updates to components, patterns, and specifications from cross-functional teams Provide a strong design perspective, translating brand into cohesive digital product experiences Continuously improve how the design system is communicated and consumed by designers, developers, and stakeholders Help define and evolve processes that support a sustainable, scalable, and well-governed design system Required Qualifications8+ years of experience in product design or UX 2+ years of direct experience working on design systems as a feature or product designer Proven experience contributing to mature design systems (component creation, documentation, adoption, and education) Strong understanding of design system principles, structure, and real-world application Experience working with design tokens and system-driven design approaches Experience designing across multiple platforms (web, iOS, Android) Strong understanding of technical constraints and best practices across platforms Experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions Strong writing and documentation skills (component guidelines, usage, rationale, system documentation) Comfortable working closely with front-end engineering teams Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including understanding of system structuring and scalability Portfolio showcasing multiple projects, including at least one with a clear design systems focus Strong understanding of how design systems integrate with engineering Preferred QualificationsExperience contributing code for web or native applications Experience scaling or operationalizing design systems across large or complex organizations Experience establishing governance models or contribution workflows for design systems Strong understanding of documentation strategy and design education best practices Experience supporting or driving adoption of design systems across multiple teams or product are Consent to SMS and Phone Call CommunicationsBy submitting your application, you acknowledge and consent to Purple, Rock, Scissors (PRPL) collecting and using your email address and phone number for recruitment communication purposes.
