The Technician will spend about 90% of his/her time walking and moving throughout the building and standing for long periods of time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and see.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 70 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The Maintenance Technician is a mechanically/technically-minded, people-oriented individual who will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, the Technician will handle a wide variety of tasks from basic carpentry, troubleshooting and managing facility issues, coordinating both preventative and reactive maintenance work to handling small building and grounds projects. Working on building and grounds projects can expose an individual to many safety risks so the ability to complete projects with a mindset prioritizing safety while adhering to company safety guidelines is a must. The ideal candidate will be customer service driven as they will be interacting with employees and outside personnel on a frequent basis.

Essential Functions
Evaluate and diagnose technical issues
Perform a variety of skilled duties, such as: General cleaning, painting, resolve basic plumbing issues, general carpentry on items such as doors, floors, docks, overhead doors, roof downspouts, product racks and materials handling equipment
Perform light maintenance and upkeep on Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
Regular use of hand power tools and building equipment
Working with building access controls and security
Coordinating work orders in a systematic and organized manner
Being a team player – ability to work in teams, open and receptive to coaching and feedback with a willingness to learn
Communicating effectively via phone, email and mail among staff
Maintaining high attention to detail
Servicing equipment at regular intervals including, the replacement or repair of defective parts
Responding to building and grounds requests in timely manner
Examining, testing and isolating defects in equipment and replacing or repairing defective parts as needed, including wiring, switches, outlets and motors.
Grounds keeping to include: disposal of trash, keeping walks clear and possible snow removal
Working with Facilities Manager/General Manager on maintenance projects
Maintaining records, reports and files appropriately
Working with vendors and contractors as needed
