It will require the ability and willingness to travel to Edwards AFB, CA up to 40%.\n\nThe Data Analyst provides mid-level data analysis and data-engineering support for Doolittle Labs’ flight-test campaigns and applied research. The Analyst executes day-to-day analysis under the technical direction of the Data Scientist and the Director of Data and Analytics, contributes to the lab’s data-driven test infrastructure buildout, and interfaces with OEM partners and external sponsors on post-event data.\n\nResponsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to:\n• Establish a “data-driven test” infrastructure and process for Doolittle Labs, aligned with the AFTC Multi-Domain Test Force (MDTF) and AFTC Data Working Group and VAULTIS-compliant for integration into the DAF Data Mesh Environment (DME).\n• Support all flight-test activities executed by Doolittle Labs, including modeling and simulation (M&S), test-data planning, and data acquisition requirements definition.\n• Support flight-test data analysis post-event, including data received from OEM partners (e.g., Lockheed Martin, RTX, Calspan, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, among others) and translation of OEM outputs into Doolittle Labs analysis products.\n• Apply data-analysis tools to quantify AI-agent performance early—in simulation, HITL/SITL, and pre-flight environments; before flight test on the X-62A VISTA.\n• Provide and disseminate flight-test results to Doolittle Labs leadership, sponsors, PAE/PM reach-back customers, and, where and when authorized and cleared, the broader T&E community.\n• Ensure that task related products are consistent in format and content with overall project deliverables - Routinely engage with Govt technical representative + tech leads for our teammates and subcontractors\n• Acts as a resource/mentor for colleagues with less experience\n• Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations\n\nRequired Skills\n• Working knowledge of applied statistical analysis, exploratory data analysis, and common machine-learning techniques as applied to engineering data.\n• Working knowledge of flight-test practices (test cards, telemetry, post-flight data reconstruction) is preferred, or a demonstrated ability to acquire that knowledge quickly.\n• Awareness of the DAF Data Strategy (VAULTIS, DME) and DCWF data-workforce framework; awareness of AFTC data-infrastructure activities led by the MDTF and AFTC Data Working Group.\n• Awareness of AI/autonomy T&E concepts sufficient to support Data Scientist and Director-level tasking, including basic V&V considerations for nondeterministic systems.\n• Proficiency with Python (e.g., pandas, NumPy, matplotlib) and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.\n• Working proficiency with a data-visualization platform (Tableau, Power BI, or plotly) sufficient to produce reviewable analysis products.\n• Working proficiency with MATLAB and/or Excel for engineering-data analysis; ability to work with structured telemetry files (CSV, HDF5, etc).\n• Experience with data cleaning, quality checks, ETL construction, and basic pipeline maintenance.\n• Skill in version control (e.g, Git) and reproducible-analysis practices (Jupyter, notebook standards\nAll MTSI employees are required to be skilled in the following core competencies:\n• Collaboration/Teamwork: Engages others across roles through communication and mutual respect, shares insights, enabling effective teamwork to ensure collective success.
