Won't you join us?\n\nJob Summary: As a\n\nQuality Problem Solving Engineer you will drive quality improvement, root cause analysis, and problem-solving excellence across its manufacturing network. This role is responsible for rapidly assessing issues and determining the appropriate level of response-whether through practical, rapid problem-solving methods or more structured Red X investigations for complex and recurring issues.\n\nThe successful candidate will be a self-driven, logical thinker who thrives in a manufacturing environment and can facilitate cross-functional teams toward practical, sustainable solutions. They will possess a strong understanding of Lean principles, believe in simplicity over complexity, and focus on identifying true root causes rather than managing symptoms.\n\nThis position will be based at one of FXI's manufacturing facilities and requires approximately\n\n50-70% travel\n\nto support quality initiatives throughout the company's plant network.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead Root Cause Investigations\n\nby assessing manufacturing, process, product, and customer quality issues and selecting the most effective problem-solving approach.\n\nDrive Corrective and Preventive Actions\n\nthrough rapid containment, root cause identification, implementation, validation, and sustainability of solutions.\n\nFacilitate Structured Problem-Solving\n\nusing methodologies such as Red X, 3-Legged 5-Why, and Is / Is Not Analysis to resolve complex and chronic issues.\n\nIdentify and Reduce Process Variation\n\nby applying Shainin Red X principles, BOB/WOW comparisons, and practical experimentation techniques.\n\nAnalyze Trends and Systemic Issues\n\nacross multiple facilities to identify recurring problems, business risks, and opportunities for improvement.\n\nLead Read Across Initiatives\n\nto standardize lessons learned, prevent issue recurrence, and deploy best practices throughout the manufacturing network.\n\nChampion Lean Quality Principles\n\nby eliminating waste, simplifying processes, and promoting practical, value-added solutions to quality challenges.\n\nCollaborate Cross-Functionally\n\nwith Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve critical issues and drive sustainable improvements.\n\nSupport Customer Quality Management\n\nby leading customer issue investigations, communicating corrective actions, and participating in customer-facing quality discussions and escalations.\n\nDevelop Organizational Capability\n\nby coaching and training plant teams in problem-solving methodologies, root cause analysis, Lean principles, and effective corrective action development.\n\nQualifications:\n\nBachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline.\n\nMinimum 5 years of manufacturing quality, process engineering, or operations experience.\n\nDemonstrated success leading root cause analysis and corrective action activities.\n\nStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.\n\nAbility to travel 50-70% to support multiple plant locations.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nPreferred:\n\nExperience with Shainin Red X methodologies and variation reduction techniques.\n\nLean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.\n\nExperience leading plant-to-plant Read Across initiatives.\n\nExperience facilitating customer quality issue resolution.\n\nKnowledge of A3, 8D, and practical problem-solving methodologies.\n\nLean, ASQ, or related certifications.\n\nOur Commitment to a Diverse Workforce: FXI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
