The Bindery Folder/Cutter Operator performs manual and machine tasks related to the setup, maintenance, and operation of flatbed cutters and MBO folding machines in our printing manufacturing facility to produce high-quality printed and folded materials according to job specifications and production schedules.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nSet up and operate MBO folding machines and flatbed cutters; including set up and adjustments for feeder, folding, cutting, and delivery.\n\nConfigure folder for special processes (e.g., perforating, scoring, slitting/trimming) and for various folding configurations (e.g., parallel, gate, accordion).\n\nRead and interpret job tickets, layouts, and specifications to ensure accurate folding and cutting.\n\nVerify accuracy of folds, final sizes, and crossovers on signatures; ensure no marking.\n\nPerform other bindery operations such as cutting, punching, shrink-wrapping, stitching, padding, and round cornering.\n\nDemonstrate a 95% success rate in troubleshooting folder machine issues and correcting process-related issues.\n\nMonitor production runs for quality, consistency, and efficiency; ensuring consistent product inspection.\n\nPerform routine preventative maintenance on folder and cutter machines and document it in the maintenance binder.\n\nComplete all required documentation and data entry to support accurate machine records and inventory tracking.\n\nLoad paper onto folder equipment and prepare basic start up functions.\n\nFollow proper safety procedures for operating bindery equipment.\n\nAdhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s).\n\nAssist with cleanup and maintain a neat and orderly work area.\n\nPerform other duties as requested.\n\nQualifications\n\nHigh school diploma or GED, and a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nMinimum 2 years of experience operating MBO or similar folding equipment in a commercial print or packaging environment.\n\nExperience operating a flatbed cutter preferred.\n\nBasic knowledge of mechanical maintenance.\n\nMust be able to read and interpret rulers, scales, and other measurement devices.\n\nAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, fractions, and volume.\n\nMust be able to stand regularly and walk frequently.\n\nMust be able to use hands and fingers in continuous and repetitive motions.\n\nMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.\n\nAbout Us\nResource Label Group, LLC (RLG) is a leading full-service provider of label and packaging solutions with a diverse product offering which includes pressure sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, RFID/NFC technology, sustainable product solutions, scent activation technology, pharmaceutical packaging and fulfillment services.
