Clinical Laboratory Scientist, LIMS Development Support Specialist, Contract
*This is a contract position*
In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and implementation of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) while also contributing to daily laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will have a very strong background in clinical laboratory processes and experience with LIMS design, development, and implementations (preferably Sapio LIMS).
What you'll do
Serve as the primary Laboratory Operations business stakeholder representing the laboratory during the design, development and establishment of a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Collaborate with IT, software developers, and laboratory staff to define user requirements, workflow processes, and system specifications for the LIMS
Participate in LIMS testing, validation, and implementation processes
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions related to LIMS usage
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to LIMS functionality
Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory operations and LIMS utilization
Support accessioning activities in the CAP/CLIA laboratory
What you'll bring to DELFI
BS in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Science, or equivalent
Possess an active and valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) generalist or CGMBS license issued by the state of California pursuant to Division 2, Chapter 3 of the California Business and Professions Code or to practice medicine, osteopathy, or podiatry pursuant to Division 2, Chapter 5 of the California Business and Professions Code appropriate to the specialty being performed preferred
3+ years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting
Clinical Laboratory Assistant/Associate (CLA) experience
Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and their design, development, and implementation
Strong understanding of clinical laboratory processes, workflows, and regulatory requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google, and database management
Experience with LIMS implementation (preferably Sapio LIMS) or large-scale laboratory software projects
Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, GCP, etc.)
Familiarity with next-generation sequencing technologies and workflows
