Modeling Engineer

Quantitative Modeling Engineer A privately held energy investment firm based in Texas that evaluates and structures long‐term investments into physical energy assets. This role focuses on designing and building the models the firm uses to understand asset performance, uncertainty, and risk over time. These models are used directly to inform real investment decisions. You will own the modelling stack end to end, from data ingestion through to simulation, aggregation, and output. The role is hands‐on, Python‐based, and the team is based in Texas, but the role can be remote.Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain Python‐based models to simulate asset performance, costs, and uncertainty over timeDevelop scenario and sensitivity frameworks to explore how different assumptions impact outcomesAggregate asset‐level simulations into portfolio‐level views of risk and returnBuild tools to automate model runs, reporting, and visualisation for internal decision‐makersWork closely with investment and technical stakeholders to define assumptions, validate outputs, and refine modelsEnsure models are transparent, testable, and maintainable, not just mathematically soundDocument model logic and provide clear explanations of results to non‐technical colleaguesWhat you'll need Strong Python skills and experience building modelling or simulation tools in production environmentsA background in quantitative modelling, engineering analysis, or applied mathematicsComfort working with uncertainty, scenarios, and imperfect dataExperience designing modular, reusable, and testable codeAbility to translate technical outputs into practical business or investment insightAn interest in physical systems, real assets, and how technical behaviour connects to economic outcomesA practical, curious mindset and enjoyment of working on open‐ended problems#J-18808-Ljbffr
