Join the CompucomStaffing team.\r\nOur global client is looking for a strong Data Center Technician (2nd shift) to work onsite at their world-class data center in Cincinnati, OH. This Technician will be working the hours of 4:00pm to 12:30am, Sunday to Thursday.\r\nDuties and Responsibilities\r\nCoordinate with and take direction from the Client Facilities team(s)\r\nComplete work orders within mutually agreed service windows\r\nConfirm that the Change Control policies are fully adhered to for all work orders and other data center related activities\r\nInstall hardware and provide connectivity according to Client provided standards\r\nInstall, configure, and prepare servers for operating system loads\r\nBuild, test, and run cables between devices, peripherals, and network demarcation points\r\nManage the shipping of old equipment and the delivery of new equipment and maintain tracking information\r\nMaintain records for assets so that all moves, adds, deletes, and changes are properly tracked and recorded\r\nMaintain remote access connections into the data center environment\r\nAssist Client Level 2 and Level 3 support teams in troubleshooting hardware / network issues\r\nProvide onsite hands and feet support\r\nVerify status lights on servers and network connections\r\nPerform low-level repairs; e.g., swap drives\r\nInstall and maintain cabling following published standards\r\nValidate that all system placements follow space allocation plans\r\nMonitor the data center infrastructure for normal operation including, but not limited to, water leaks, abnormal sounds, and hot spots within the room, and report any deviation from standards set by the Client\r\nSubmit requests to maintenance and contact agents for various activities related to facilities and infrastructure\r\nCoordinate the installation of new or changed power requirements with the Client Facilities team(s)\r\nMaintain site facilities needs according to health and safety requirements as directed\r\nMaintain data centers and all workspaces associated with the data center in a clean and professional manner\r\nSupport unstaffed tertiary data centers as requested by the Client\r\nSkills and Qualifications\r\nAble to take direction from the DC team lead / program manager\r\nInterface with client's staff\r\nBe capable / highly efficient with speaking, reading, and writing fluid English\r\nTechnical skills in various compute / network technologies, including:\r\nHardware (Physical Support): Servers, Blade Systems, Network Switches, Network Firewalls, Assorted Network Gear, Basic Understanding of SAN / NAS connectivity & topology\r\nHardware (Logical Support): Basic understanding of operating systems, asset logon capabilities (as per requests), ILO / management configuration capabilities\r\nNetwork topology and redundancy\r\nStructured and RTS Cabling: design, buildout, troubleshooting / diagnostics & best practices\r\nRack layouts / management, for capacity planning/management\r\nIn-rack power distribution (i.e. PDU's, CDU's, UPS's)\r\nStrong analytical skills\r\nInventory management (asset & infrastructure based)\r\nGood incident / problem solving skillset\r\nWe offer a comprehensive benefit package that you can elect into including but not limited to: Health Insurance (Medical, Vision, Dental), 401k, Basic Life / AD&D, Supplemental Insurances Plans, Paid Time Off Plan, Paid Holiday, Paid Sick Leave plan, FSA / HSA Pre-Tax Benefits, Employee Discounts.\r\nW2 only, no Corp to Corp.
