The Sr. Packaging Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Global Commodity Management, Supplier Quality Management, and Operations teams in the US and abroad to define efficient, robust, and standardized packaging for our products. You will be a critical escalation path for packaging issues and work closely with partner teams to ensure cross-functional collaboration is effective.\n\nThe team is looking for knowledge in the following fields of focus:\n\nClean room compliant packaging\nManufacturing kit packaging\nManufacturing shadow foam solutions\nTransportation solutions\nLabeling and barcoding (including developing supplier standards for labeling/barcoding)\nProven strong organizational and problem-solving skills\nDemonstrated critical thinking capability\nEnthusiasm for getting “hands on” with your team in collaborative environments\nAbility to identify risks, develop clear mitigation plans, and communicate effectively to executive stakeholders while handling multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced rapidly evolving environment\n\nKey job responsibilities\n\nPartner with operations to identify packaging/labeling defects impacting operations, including safety hazards created by packaging.\nManage the development of Packaging concepts with Packaging Vendors and Component part Suppliers, ensuring material conformity and personnel safety.\nManage the development of packaging concepts for kitting at distribution center and shadow foam solutions for final delivery of parts to manufacturing.\nPlan and direct activities concerned with design and development of packaging. Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of component, special handling and safety requirements.\nCreate detailed packaging specifications for both components and manufacturing kits, including clean room compliance.\nDefine standard labeling and barcoding specifications and partner with supply chain to drive adoption by suppliers.
