Environmental Health Safety Specialist
Role Description The Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Specialist at 100Devs is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs, policies, and procedures that promote a safe and healthy work environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting workplace safety inspections, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with applicable occupational health and safety regulations. The EHS Specialist will lead safety training sessions, track incident reports, and drive corrective and preventive actions. This role also collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operations, facilities management, and company events, while continuously improving safety culture and environmental stewardship.QualificationsStrong foundation in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply regulatory requirements and best practices in a workplace setting.Hands-on experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including policy development, risk assessments, and incident investigation.Proven background in Workplace Safety, including hazard identification, mitigation strategies, and safety audits.Ability to design and deliver effective Safety Training programs tailored to different roles and levels within the organization.Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, local building and fire codes).Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage team members at all levels.Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CHMM, OSHA certifications) are a plus.Ability to work on-site full time in New York, NY, and occasionally support after-hours or emergency safety needs.
