The position will primarily serve elementary physical education programs and may include teaching health courses at other grade levels as needed. Under the supervision of the building principal, the teacher develops students' physical skills, coordination, teamwork, and understanding of healthy lifestyle habits while encouraging lifelong physical activity.This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement.QualificationsValid Oregon Teaching License with Health and PE endorsements.Preference may be given to those who are bilingual in Spanish and English.Experience with PLCs, best assessments and classroom practices highly desirable.Physical demands needed: ability to communicate with students, co-workers, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to respond to telephones, bells, students, co- workers, etc.; ability to respond to classroom disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.; ability to read written material; ability to operate office equipment; ability to carry or lift light loads (25 lbs)All applicants will be considered carefully.
