{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"b70e0a3ff211974f250691b3","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/b70e0a3ff211974f250691b3","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/b70e0a3ff211974f250691b3","title":"Mechanical Systems Engineer","description":"A high profile Aerospace and Defense company is looking for a Mechanical Systems Engineer to join their on site team in Tehachapi, CA!\n\n*Job Description*\n\n• Plays an integral role in all aircraft systems (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, landing gear, etc.) designs for the Advanced Design team\n\n• Perform aircraft conceptual and preliminary systems design and analysis • Perform trade studies (weight, performance, systems sizing)\n\n• Create engineering designs, layouts and drawings for aircraft functional systems\n\n• Lead a team of designers/draftsman to complete engineering drawing packages\n\n• Complete designs using Catia/Solidworks design software\n\n• Knowledge of manufacturing - hands-on experience with tube assemblies, ducts, harnesses, part fabrication and assembly processes a plus\n\n• Composite knowledge a plus\n\n• Working knowledge of GD&T\n\n• Problem solving skill sets\n\n• In-depth understanding of maintaining complex Bills of Material\n\n• Pursues all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability\n\n• Performs critical path analysis and prepares and implements work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects\n\nQualifications\n\n• Degree in mechanical engineering or related\n\n• 10+ years of experience in Aerospace and Defense\n\n• Experience designing aircraft systems (fuel, hydraulic, electrical, landing gear)\n\n• Extensive experience in a similar role within military/aerospace or similar industry\n\n• Supervisory experience\n\n• Collates cost data relating to the mechanical design\n\n• Ensures the mechanical design functionally meets the user’s requirements\n\n• Produces designs to specified deadlines and achieves the required timescales\n\n• Sets an example to the other members of the mechanical design team on how to manage designs\n\n• Confident, proactive character, ability to take the lead in challenging situations\n\n• Excellent verbal and written communication skills\n\n• Good IT skills\n\n• Critical thinking along with active listening\n\n• Committed to undertaking professional development\n\n• CATIA V5 / Solidworks (10,000+ hours minimum)\n\n• GD&T experience.\n\nJob Type: Full-time\n\nPay: $50.00 -
