Other duties may be required and assigned.\nPerforms routine maintenance and minor preventive maintenance for buildings, equipment, and property.\nProvides general custodial and janitorial services, including cleaning, disinfecting, trash removal, restroom cleaning and restocking, and floor care (sweeping, scrubbing, vacuuming).\nCleans and performs basic preventive maintenance on equipment, tools, and building systems.\nMaintains building interiors by cleaning and polishing furniture, fixtures, mirrors, and equipment; washing windows, counters, walls, and woodwork.\nSets up and breaks down furniture and equipment for parish functions and events.\nPerforms minor repairs, including painting, basic plumbing, electrical work, and other routine maintenance; services equipment when able and reports mechanical malfunctions requiring additional support.\nCleans, maintains, and ensures proper use of tools and equipment.\nIdentifies, reports, and addresses safety hazards and maintenance concerns.\nMonitors premises and reports unauthorized individuals or security concerns.\nAssists with general upkeep of parish facilities as needed.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nRequirements:\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Relevant experience in similar position preferred.\nOTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES\nMust have working knowledge of all building systems, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.\nIndividual should have the knowledge and skills to diagnose trouble issues, make minor repairs and be able to work with outside vendors to get repairs done to the building systems.\nKnowledge of the proper use and disposal of hazardous materials, safe handling techniques, and use of proper safety equipment as outlined by OSHA.\nMust have repair skills for minor equipment used inside or outside.\nMust be self-motivated and prompt in performing tasks.\nMust successfully pass Diocesan background screening and Safe Environment Training.\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nThe working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person will need to be available in the evening and weekends, as needed. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure.\nPHYSICAL and SENSORY REQUIREMENTS\nTasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing 15 feet and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (30 pounds). Exposure to climate changes, uncomfortable temperatures, and fumes. Works with machinery requiring considerable caution.\nA review of this position has excluded the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. All duties and responsibilities are essential job functions and requirements are subject to possible modifications to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
