The Seamer will set-up and operation of the seamer according to job specifications, including but not limited to knowledge of tension controls, print defects, edge handling/quality, touch screen controls, mechanical devices, handling of solvents and the metric system.  Must know how to read and understand copy sheets and work instructions.  Commitment to quality, efficiency and safety are required. Must be very detail-oriented & be able to maintain tolerances of less than a tenth of a millimeter. \nWhy work at MCC: \n\nCompensation: Starting at $23.56 an hour\nGenerous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance and 401(k)\nPaid Holidays: New Years, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, plus two floating holidays \n\nResponsibilities/Duties:  \n\nPromotes and supports our culture that our most important asset is our people, supported by our corporate values of:  Integrity, Passion, Creativity, Achievement and Perseverance. \nKnowledge of, understanding of and compliance to all Quality System Documents that are associated with this job description. \nActively participate in MCC’s Lean, Quality, Product Safety, SQF (Safe Quality Foods) and Workplace Safety Programs. \nKnowledge of tension controls, print defects, edge handling/quality, touch screen controls, mechanical devices, handling of solvents and the metric system. \nEnsure all set ups are done according to job specifications (correct proof, job bag, correct type of solution, correct slit side (2.5mm/.5mm), solution side, web guide side, proper position and  pressure of nip roller, correct pin size, correct tensions for unwind and rewind rolls, proper amount per roll (convert labels into meters), check diameter of finished rolls. \nPull samples every 3-5 minutes maintain all required paperwork. Ensure quality of bond, solution bond width and oscillation width. \nContinuous monitoring and adjustment of solution and lay flat. \nFollow all safety rules while handling chemicals. \nMonitor finished rolls-proper core placement and tensions. \nEnsure proper amount on skid, all labels and stickers placed properly on boxes, paperwork  for shipping correct and samples, if needed. \nLine clearance and splice overs must be signed off by operator. \nCheck samples for press defects. \nTroubleshoot running issues, i.e.: baggy materials oscillated slit rolls, etc. \nFollow up with packers to ensure paperwork matches shipping stickers. \nComplete daily shift-change communication sheet.\n\nQualifications: \n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent  \nKnowledge of Seamer & Slitter machines preferred \nMust HAVE machine operator experience (2+years preferred)  \nSafety conscious \nGood communication skills \nMechanical skills a plus \nAbility to read a metric ruler   \n\nFor over a century, Multi-Color Corporation (MCC) has crafted premium labels for the world’s most iconic and recognizable brands.
