Here, you'll find purpose in your work.Job DescriptionThe retail pharmacy technician is responsible for receiving, entering, and filling prescriptions and plays a significant role in the coordination of patient access to care. The retail pharmacy technician works under direct supervision of the executive retail pharmacy technician.Essential Functions Include (but Are Not Limited To)Input and accurately process prescriptions in PioneerRx, fill and prepare orders for pickup or delivery via FedEx or courierAccurately enter new patients into PioneerRx and update/maintain records as neededInvestigate opportunities for pharmaceutical company-based patient assistance and/or foundation assistance to ensure access to unaffordable medicationsAppropriately and thoroughly communicate with Prior Authorization team members to help facilitate affordable access to chemotherapy medicationsProperly handle insurance denials, unique circumstances and stipulationsComplete cash register transactionsContact patients and/or caregivers to determine supply needs, establish refill schedules, and schedule pickups and deliveries as indicatedProvide a superior patient customer service experience at all timesCommunicate clearly and effectively both in person, via email and phone to a variety of audiences including patients, patient care providers, physicians, pharmacists, and staffDocument all pertinent patient communications and involve the pharmacist as neededPlace daily drug orders and control inventory by only ordering as neededPerform monthly drug inventory and maintain a record for the Director of Retail PharmacyMaintain organized prescription records according to state and federal lawsAssist with audits as neededEnsure that all pharmacy areas are cleaned regularly per company policyAdhere to appropriate safety and quality assurance practices and policiesComply with state and federal lawsJob RequirementsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentAt least 2 years of relevant work experience in a retail pharmacy environmentMust be registered in the state of Georgia as a Pharmacy TechnicianPharmacy Technician certification is requiredExperience with patient assistance programs and/or foundation assistance is preferredPioneerRx prescription software experience is preferredAbility to communicate verbally, in writing and electronicallyDeliver patient care in a timely mannerEstablish and maintain relationships with clinical and non-clinical staffMaintain attention to detail in all matters pertaining to patient careProficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerpointProficient at simple mathHIPAA RequirementsRetail Pharmacy Technician will have access to PHI and ePHI in the course of his/her duties.
