Job Title: Software Engineer - Media Platform (Python/AWS)Location: New York, NYType: ContractAbout the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team, a media file transformation and content distribution platform built on AWS. You will develop and maintain serverless workflows that power media operations for content distribution deals and internal content supply pipelines.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, DynamoDB, and S3Build and deploy infrastructure using AWS CDK (Python)Develop media processing workflows including video transformation, transcoding, watermarking, and timed text operationsIntegrate with media processing services like AWS MediaConvert, Hybrik, and Nielsen encodingWrite clean, testable Python code following best practicesParticipate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentationTroubleshoot and resolve production issues in a distributed system environment Required QualificationsExperience with Python 3.11+Strong experience with AWS services: Lambda, Step Functions, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, EventBridge, CloudWatchExperience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK preferred, CloudFormation acceptable)Familiarity with serverless architectures and event-driven design patternsExperience with CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions)Understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous processingExperience with testing frameworks (pytest)Git version control proficiency Preferred QualificationsExperience in the media/entertainment industryKnowledge of video formats, codecs, and media processing conceptsExperience with Docker and containerized workloads (AWS Batch, ECS)Familiarity with Pydantic for data validationExperience with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, AWS Lambda Powertools)Knowledge of Serverless Framework Tech StackLanguages: Python 3.11AWS Services: Lambda, Step Functions, CDK, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, EventBridge, MediaConvert, Batch, ECRTools: Docker, Git, pytest, Black, Pylint, PyrightFrameworks: Pydantic, AWS Lambda Powertools, boto3Nice to Have
