Learn to read blueprints, diagnose electrical problems, and repair electrical systems. Assist with installing new electrical systems. Assist journeyman in the planning, lay‐out, installation, testing and repair of wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment, and control systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist a journeyman electrician and follow instructions.\nLearn to use appropriate hand (i.e. drill, screwdriver) and power tools (i.e. pipe threader, conduit bender) to properly assist electrician in performing his/her duties, including, but not limited to, measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit; drill holes for wiring; pull wiring through opening; assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit, and motors.\nPerform minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.\nMaintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order; disassemble, repair and reassemble defective electrical equipment, such as motors.\nLoad, transport, unload, and furnish electrician with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.\nClean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.\nHelp install all other related items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications; perform other routine duties as directed by experienced craft worker.\nParticipate in all safety related processes and programs as requested.
