Grain Processing Corporation (GPC) a member of the KENT WORLDWIDE family of companies, has a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Division Engineer Intern. The Division Engineer Intern will provide technical and engineering assistance to the Operations division of GPC.\n\nThis position is designed and intended to be performed in Washington, IN.\n\nPRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nInitiate innovations with respect to process and equipment modifications or changes, which improve operating conditions, safety, energy conservation, environmental concerns, and/or profitability\nManage capital and expense projects from conception to production, including preparation of financial justification, specifying, purchasing, as well as tracking all spending related to the project\nDevelop maintenance and operator training documentation, conduct equipment qualification and initial training of production personnel, and make provisions for repair parts stocking levels.\nWork with the Division Superintendent to represent the interests of the Production Department in discussions with the Engineering, Process Development, and Research Departments on changes or new installations in the division\nProject management tasks such as: purchasing of materials and supplies, equipment installation, budget tracking, employee training, and startup of projects\nMonitor process equipment downtime records to identify troublesome equipment and provide recommendations for improvements\nCalculate material balances when processes change or when directed by Division Superintendent\nResponsible for concept, design, estimating, proposal submittal purchasing, installation, start-up, commissioning, documentation, training, and closure of capital projects\nDevelop project plans, timelines, cost estimates for process improvements to meet the overall manufacturing and operations objectives\nWork directly with operations in troubleshooting and resolving process issues\n\nEDUCATION:\n\nPursuing a Bachelors degree in Chemical, Electrical, Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering required. Other engineering disciplines may be considered.\n\nEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:\n\nPrevious experience in a corn wet milling or similar industrial process is desired\nInternship or co-op experience in an operations or manufacturing environment strongly desired\nStrong verbal and technical writing skills\nAdvanced skill level in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications is strongly desired\nExcellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload\n\nTRAVEL:\n\nLimited travel (up to 10%) may be required for training or to support business needs.\n\nOther:\n\nRegular and timely attendance is required.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
