You will be responsible not only for guiding engineers, but for driving system-level design decisions and ensuring that our products perform reliably in the field.You will own the development of power converter platforms and their integration into multi-megawatt systems (~5 MW scale), working across hardware, controls, and system integration disciplines.RequirementsLead and develop a team of 10–15 electrical engineers working on power converter design and integrationDrive the design and architecture of grid-connected inverter systems at the multi-megawatt scaleEnsure successful integration of inverter platforms into larger systems (BESS, solar plants, data centers)Provide technical leadership in power electronics, including converter design, PCB implementation, controls, protection, and system-level electrical integration (fusing, cabling, grounding, and interconnects)Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and field engineering teamsGuide engineering tradeoffs with a focus on performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturabilityLead design reviews, verification & validation efforts (DVT), and product release processes, ensuring designs are thoroughly tested, meet requirements, and perform reliably under real-world operating conditionsMentor engineers and elevate the technical capabilities of the teamQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (PhD a plus)8+ years of experience in power electronics or related field3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or technical groupsStrong expertise in:Power converter design (DC/AC, DC/DC, inverter systems)Medium-voltage and high-power applicationsGrid-connected systems and standardsPCB design and layout considerations for high-power/high-frequency systemsBalance-of-system design including protection, cabling, grounding, and interconnectsExperience designing or integrating megawatt-scale power systemsExperience leading or overseeing design validation testing (DVT), system test plans, and failure/root-cause analysisSolid understanding of system-level design, including controls, thermal, and protection considerationsExperience with applications such as energy storage, solar PV, or grid infrastructureStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on engineering mindsetAbility to communicate clearly and work effectively across disciplinesBenefits401(k) with company matchingMedical, dental, and vision insuranceDisability and life insuranceFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid Time Off (PTO)Tuition reimbursementEqual Opportunity EmployerEPC Power is an equal opportunity employer.
