This model is designed to build critical thinking, communication, creativity, and other essential 21st-century skills through hands-on learning experiences. Students are grouped and participate in elective-style courses that may include technology, fitness, arts, and other enrichment experiences.\nPosition Summary\nThis role is part of the DYAD program. DYAD means “two in one” and reflects the connection between classroom learning and community-based expertise. DYAD is designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the community by bringing in individuals with real-world knowledge and first-hand experience to provide students with meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities.\n\nDYAD consultants do more than teach a class. They provide an experience through their expertise. The Art Consultant helps students build creativity, confidence, self-expression, problem-solving skills, and habits of success through hands-on artistic experiences and age-appropriate art instruction.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in art\nDevelop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach\nIndependently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program\nCreate a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment\nActively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period\nMaintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations\nEnsure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences\nCommunicate professionally with campus staff and leadership\nBe prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction\nUse their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences\nContribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program\nCreate opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through art showcases, presentations, displays, or other demonstrations of learning\nQualifications\nSkill, knowledge, and first-hand experience in art or a related creative field\nAbility to work effectively with students in a school setting\nStrong communication, organization, and classroom leadership skills\nAbility to provide structured, engaging, and experience-based learning\nCommitment to professionalism, consistency, and student engagement\nCompensation\nThis is an hourly position paid at $30 per hour.
