You will play a critical role in designing integration solutions for restaurant POS and KDS systems, ensuring reliable communication between all system components. This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in hands-on environments and enjoys tackling complex integration challenges.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and implement integration solutions to connect robotic systems with restaurant POS and KDS systems, enabling seamless order processing and kitchen workflow optimization.\nEnsure reliable operation and communication between various system components, including sensors, actuators, and control systems.\nTroubleshoot and resolve hardware and software integration issues in live kitchen environments to ensure minimal downtime.\nCollaborate with the software, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of robotic systems.\nDevelop robust middleware and backend solutions to manage communication between kitchen equipment, robotic systems, and external devices.\nCreate testing frameworks and processes to validate the functionality and performance of integrated systems.\nWork closely with the product and deployment teams to install and support robotic systems in real-world kitchen environments.\nStay current on industry trends in industrial communication protocols, embedded systems, and robotics technologies.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.\n3+ years of experience in systems integration, embedded systems, or industrial automation.\nStrong experience with hardware interfacing and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC-UA, CAN bus).\nProficiency in C/C++, Python, the Linux environment, and version control systems (e.g., Git).\nExperience with embedded systems and designing interfaces between hardware and software components.\nStrong backend integration and middleware development skills, with experience ensuring smooth communication between hardware, software, and external systems.\nAbility to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize hardware/software interactions in real-time operational environments.\nAbility to work in our HQ in Pasadena, CA.\nDesired Multipliers:\nExperience with commercial kitchen equipment and infrastructure, and their integration with external platforms.\nKnowledge of restaurant POS systems and experience integrating robotic systems with these platforms.\nFamiliarity with PLCs and control systems in industrial or kitchen automation settings.\nExperience with robotic systems or automation in food service environments.\nCompensation:\nSalary: $120,000 - $170,000 + equity + benefits.\nThe stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base salary range for candidates residing in the Los Angeles Metro area and excludes additional earnings such as bonus and benefits.
