Assists the Ops Leader and Group Leader II (where applicable) in assigning daily tasks, meeting team results and objectives, and sharing the team performance. Supports an environment of efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nUnder limited supervision and following established procedures, responsibilities may include some or all the following activities. This list is not intended to be all inclusive.\n\nAssists in assigning trainers for new hires and cross training initiatives\nAs directed by the Ops Leader and/or Group Leader II, performs daily production tasks\nAs required, works as a backup for the Ops Leader and/or Group Leader II\nAssists in facilitating team problem solving and team meetings\nAs directed by the Ops Leader, a Group Leader I may have oversight responsibility for a one or more work centers within a production team area\nAs directed by the Ops Leader, a Group Leader I may have responsibility for maintaining the T.I.B., performing Kamishibai Audits, 5S audits, TPM’s, Standard Work Audits and Safety Audits\nPartners with planners, manufacturing engineering and quality engineering to implement changes to reduce errors, improve throughput, and ensure customer due dates are met\nHelps to ensure team achieves results, meets goals, and follows up promptly on action items and requests, which may include material availability if applicable\nReviews discrepancies, takes corrective action, recommends alternative methods, and provides constructive feedback to the team. Follows up to ensure corrective action has been implemented.\nAs required, will participate in potential new hire interviews\n\nLean\n\nA Group Leader I, must have a working concept of LEAN principles\nActively looks for possible lean solutions to improve inefficiencies and workflow\nAssist with PDCA activities as needed\n\nDevelopmental\n\nAssists in determining the skill level of each individual in their respective area of responsibility\nProvide input on reviews for development planning\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nMust possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent\nAn AA TECH employee for at least 1 year is preferred\nExternal candidates, 1 year of leadership in manufacturing preferred\nMust be able to work overtime as needed\n\nKey Competencies Include:\n\nDeveloping problem solving and interpersonal communication skills\nEncourages and is receptive to suggestions and new ideas\nRecommends new techniques, systems and procedures\nProvides clear, concise instruction. Assists in resolving technical questions, as well as team member concerns/issues.
