The Software Engineer draws upon his/her experience and expertise to design, develop, and maintain these software solutions.\nResponsibilities\nThe Software Engineer will be an active participant in the software development team on assigned projects. This includes the following:\nContribute to the definition of development processes and standards.\nResearch possible approaches to meeting technical requirements.\nMake technology selection and design recommendations.\nPromote innovation and learning on the team.\nOutline code and system designs.\nOptimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.\nWrite code.\nTest and review code.\nWrite and maintain system documentation.\nDeploy code.\nDebug/analyze code to determine root cause of problems/issues.\nMaintain and improve code quality.\nSome of this work may be done individually, but it will all be performed in a collaborative environment as part of a cross-functional project team, including, as appropriate, other Software Developers, Designers, Business Analysts and Product Managers.\nCompetencies and Qualities\nEffective communication\nAttention to detail\nComfortable working independently or with a team\nPushes tasks to completion\nEmpathizes with software users\nEducation, Experience, and Certifications\nThe following list is not intended to be a specific list of hard requirements, but rather gives examples of the types of experience that would make someone a good fit for this position:\nA minimum of 2 years professional experience as a software developer or equivalent\nOne or more general purpose languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, JavaScript, C#)\nExperience with APIs (esp. built in Ruby or Node), relational databases (esp.
