Prepares cases to ensure efficiency, organization, and productivity of the Oncology Data Specialists (ODS). Facilitates patient follow-up process according to established program accreditation standards. Supports weekly tumor conferences in preparation and follow-up recommendations and communication.Shift Available: DaysStatus Available: Full-time, 40 hours/weekRequired Qualifications: Education High School diploma or equivalent; post-high school training or education preferred. ExperienceBasic understanding of medical record content and forms. Understanding of cancer-related diagnosis and ICD reportable codes. Proficient in Microsoft Office, EPIC, Outlook, and general office equipment. Physical and Mental Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to prioritize work to ensure that tumor registrars and other key stakeholders have information to perform additional review and analysis; ability to multi-task and meet time limits. Analytical skills to understand accreditation standards and the application of technical theory; analytical skills to identify errors and ensure efficiency with reporting and patient follow-up rates, utilizing various sources and means of data retrieval. What you will do: Performs case finding on all inpatient and outpatient oncology patients identified within laboratory (pathology) reports, outpatient chemotherapy infusion center and radiation oncology. Enters in suspense all patient identifiers, demographics and primary site and histology for each newly diagnosed cancer in the registry software system. Performs annual follow-up each month for every case in the registry to ensure accurate and complete data and history/status of each patient. Assists with additional communication as needed. (Treatment and follow-up letters sent to physician offices). Assists the Nurse Navigator and Physician moderator with clerical duties for tumor board lists and presentation sheets. Submits required CME documentation and notifies managing physicians of final recommendations from conference/meetings. Assists with oncology program quality improvement projects and performs other related duties as assigned.
