Plant Manager - Architectural Precast Concrete

The Plant/Production Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of the production process from when the job is ready to be scheduled through the completion of the project. The Plant/Production Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager and Plant Superintendent and will be responsible for managing all functions of the day-to-day production process including Job & Bed Planning, Inventory Control, Mold Shop Fabrication, Stripping, and Production within all plant areas. Under the direction of the Plant/Production Manager, projects are efficiently and effectively managed to maximize profitabilityPLANNING / SCHEDULING: Leads planning for production and scheduling of crews for all production areas (Bldgs. 1, 2, 3, Inventory, Mixer, Finishing, Stripping, and Mold Shop). Sets a sense of urgency, determines priorities and ensures ongoing effective communications of all personnel. Manages hours on each job during the production process. Sets up each job with materials and labor in advance to facilitate productive work flow.PRODUCTION OPERATIONS: Manages all Plant, Mold Shop, Inventory, Stripping, Finishing, and Mixer employees. Maintains production schedule to maximize productivity and deliver low cost results. Defines and eliminates waste, works to implement 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing processes. Is responsible for daily pour schedule. Ensures all production, mold shop, and other plant activities are run efficiently, creating a team-oriented and quality mindset among the crew.QUALITY: Along with the Quality Manager, works to build a “quality minded workforce” in all areas of the plants. Sets high expectations to produce high quality architectural and precast concrete products. Holds QC department accountable for daily pre/post pour checking. Drives quality to ensure that Stonecast is at the highest level of architectural producers.JOB PROFITABILITY & GROWTH: Has overall accountability for job profitability regarding estimated/budgeted hours. Communicates expected labor hours to the crews and is expected to drive the team to meet or exceed the hours from the Daily Production worksheet. Makes changes and enhancements to improve the production flow and operation to increase profitability.SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT: Works with Safety Director to ensure all safety policies and procedures are enforced. Keeps safety at the forefront of all operations, leading by example. Ensures all required internal reporting is complete, timely, and accurate.TEAM DEVELOPMENT / HR: Responsible for hiring, performance evaluation, and training of employees in all specific areas of responsibility. Works alongside Operations Manager, General Manager, and HR to set new policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring all are enforced, maintained, and up to date.COMPETENCIES: Leadership, commitment / dedication, problem solving / decision making, commitment to continuous improvement, team building/motivation, profitability.
