This role sustains and modernizes government-owned business applications built on the Microsoft technology stack, keeping mission-critical .NET applications running reliably while helping re-engineer and migrate them into a secure AWS GovCloud environment. The engineer will work across the full stack, from SQL Server data layers to React front ends, within a DevSecOps pipeline. This is a largely remote position; however, candidates must reside in the vicinity of San Diego, CA to support periodic onsite collaboration.\n\nThis position requires an active Secret clearance.\n\nLMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors—helping agencies navigate complexity and achieve mission success.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications across the Microsoft .NET stack, including C# with .NET Framework and .NET Core, ASP.NET WebForms and MVC, and IIS.\n\nBuild and maintain responsive front-end interfaces using JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.\n\nDevelop and integrate data solutions on Microsoft SQL Server, including SSIS packages and SSRS reports, and connect applications to data warehouses and data marts.\n\nModernize legacy Microsoft applications to current frameworks, operating systems, and Agile practices.\n\nOperate within a DevSecOps pipeline using Azure DevOps, managing source control, builds, and secure CI/CD workflows.\n\nSupport the re-engineering and migration of applications into a secure AWS GovCloud environment.\n\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies and manage work through Azure DevOps boards and backlogs.\n\nSupport sustainment and governance activities, including technical documentation, change and incident management, user resources, and cybersecurity accreditation efforts.\n\nCoordinate with government technical leads, platform and security teams, and other developers to deliver secure, reliable solutions.\n\nQualifications:\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\nActive Secret security clearance.\nCurrent DoD 8570/8140-compliant baseline certification appropriate for the position, such as CompTIA Security+.\nEight or more years of experience in full-stack business systems web software engineering.\nFive or more years within the past ten years in DevSecOps, including Azure DevOps Services, Azure DevOps Server or Team Foundation Server, and management of modern DevSecOps processes.\nFive or more years within the past ten years across all of the following: C# and .NET development, JavaScript, MS Visual Studio, SQL, React JS or Angular JS, HTML, CSS, MS ASP.NET, .NET Framework and .NET Core, and MS SQL Server.\nWilling to work largely remote with periodic onsite collaboration in the vicinity of San Diego, CA.\nAbility to explain technical issues clearly and work effectively with government civilians, military personnel, contractors, and enterprise support organizations.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nBachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related discipline.\nExperience modernizing Microsoft applications to current frameworks.\nExperience with jQuery, Bootstrap, DevExpress, and Django frameworks.\nExperience with containerization and Kubernetes.\nExperience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architecture and design.\nAWS GovCloud experience, or demonstrated readiness to cross-train into AWS as applications migrate.\nExperience supporting U.S. Special Operations Forces or other Department of War mission partners.\n\nTarget Competencies:\n\nFull-stack .NET application design and development\nFront-end engineering with React and modern JavaScript\nSQL Server data integration and reporting\nApplication modernization and cloud migration\nDevSecOps and secure CI/CD delivery\nAccountability, responsiveness, and attention to detail\n\nTarget salary range: $123,000 - $170,000\n\nDisclaimer:\n\nThe salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
