Technical Services Assistant
Duties:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Technical Assistant. In this role, you will be required to professionally represent the business by word and action when answering the telephone and greeting clients at the door; to have excellent communications and problem-solving skills; keyboarding, ten-key, basic PC, Windows skills; good dexterity; good organizational skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions; the ability to multitask; to work either independently or with another employee; to be observant, focused, attentive; to follow instructions either written or verbal; to ask questions when in doubt and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Responsibilities:
Attention to detail and accuracy are essential
Answer, direct, transfer all Main Line and IT Line phone calls, record and deliver all written messages; creating service tickets as appropriate
Professionally greet and assist clients and visitors
Receive Mail, UPS, FedEx Shipments
Maintain a detailed project log daily or as directed by the department supervisor
Accurately ordering hardware including creating purchase orders and scanning completed purchase orders
Accurately entering credit card charges in spreadsheets and reconciling monthly credit card statements against the spreadsheets
Accurately invoicing managed service clients monthly
Receiving and checking in hardware: accurately documenting serial numbers, accurately updating corresponding tickets
Accurately record warranty expiration dates for servers, desktop computers, and laptops
Assist with requesting quotes from vendors for upcoming renewals
Other duties, activities, and responsibilities that may be assigned as necessary to fulfill the overall purpose of the position
Must be able to lift 20 lbs. from the floor to table
Skills:
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
Keyboarding and ten-key
Basic PC skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Good organizational skills
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues
Experience working at the front desk or in a customer service role is beneficial
Strong clerical skills, including attention to detail and accuracy
