Includes an excellent benefit package with 24 days of PTO, employer-paid health and life insurance, pension plan, and more.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\nAssist in calibration of instrumentation such as flow measurement, temperature sensors, and vibration sensors.\r\nAssist in repair of electronics in the collection system with the ability to use technical manuals.\r\nMonitor and maintain records of work performed as required.\r\nMaintain repair shop test equipment and ensure the service truck's cleanliness and appearance.\r\nPerform preventive maintenance on electronic equipment. Maintain and calibrate safety equipment under direct supervision.\r\nPerform all duties while observing safety guidelines and security measures established by the Authority. Maintain good communication with supervisors and co-workers.\r\nMay be responsible for responding to various emergency situations, including after-hours, as directed by supervisor.\r\nEmployees assigned to this position are classified as essential personnel and are required to report to work when scheduled during departmental and/or emergency situations, including extended periods of inclement weather when travel may be difficult.\r\nSupervisory Responsibilities: This position does not regularly provide work leadership or full personnel management to any employees.\r\nFinancial Responsibility: May order supplies, equipment parts, materials, and equipment for department use as approved by supervisor.\r\nQualifications\r\nEducation: High school diploma or GED.\r\nExperience: One year experience in the repair and maintenance of sophisticated electronic apparatus preferred.\r\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Texas driver's license; Class I Wastewater Collection System Operator license (for Electronic Techs working in the Collection system); Class D wastewater or D water license (for Water Plant) or the ability to obtain one within the first year of employment.\r\nKnowledge: Basic understanding of AC and DC analog and digital circuitry and an analytical mind toward instrumentation technology.\r\nSkills: Mechanical and some construction skills; ability to recognize the relationship between electronics and electrical systems used; ability to calculate mathematical formulas.\r\nPhysical Demands: This position requires passing a physical and physical ability assessment specific to the position.\r\nWorking Conditions: Exposure to weather, odor, noise, chemical hazards, gases, and dust; standing for prolonged periods; walking up and down several flights of stairs; climbing and descending ladders; working at heights; and working in tight or confined spaces.\r\nTools and Equipment: Precision test equipment, electrically insulated hand tools, two-way radio, power tools, calibration and maintenance equipment, analog and digital equipment, office equipment, and pickup truck.\r\nEqual Opportunity Employer: This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
