This role requires a strong\nenvironmental compliance background and encompasses hazardous materials\nmanagement, chemical inventory control, emergency response readiness, and\nregulatory compliance activities. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in\nmaintaining a safe work environment while ensuring the facility meets all applicable\nfederal, state, and local EHS regulations. The role will be based in Bedford, MA location\nand travel to the other locations as needed with 25-30% travel expected.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\nOversee weekly eyewash/emergency shower and monthly fire extinguisher\ninspections across all sites; perform inspections directly at Bedford and ensure\ncompletion at remote locations.\nCoordinate and schedule hazardous waste pickups with licensed vendors,\nensuring proper labeling, storage, and manifesting in accordance with RCRA and\napplicable state regulations.\nConduct routine chemical audits to verify on-site quantities, confirm proper\nstorage conditions, and maintain an accurate chemical inventory database.\nOversee the chemical purchasing process by reviewing new chemical requests,\nassessing hazards, and ensuring proper documentation before materials are\napproved and ordered.\nServe as an active member of the hazardous spill response team at the Bedford,\nMA location, responding to chemical spills and releases and performing cleanup\nin accordance with established procedures.\nOversee environmental compliance programs including air permitting, stormwater\nmanagement, wastewater discharge monitoring, and waste minimization\ninitiatives as needed.\nAssist with regulatory reporting and recordkeeping for environmental programs\nsuch as Tier II, TRI, and hazardous waste generator requirements as needed.\nConduct workplace safety inspections and audits, identifying hazards and\nrecommending corrective actions.\nOversee the administration and delivery of EHS training programs for employees,\nincluding hazard communication, chemical safety, and emergency response\nprocedures.\nMaintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure the SDS library is\ncurrent and accessible.\nAssist with incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation\nof corrective and preventive actions.\nOversee industrial hygiene monitoring activities, including noise surveys, air\nsampling, and ergonomic assessments as needed.\n\nRequired Skills and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering,\nIndustrial Hygiene, or science discipline.\n5+ years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or semiconductor\nenvironment preferably in an ISO class 4 clean room environment.\nStrong environmental compliance background with working knowledge of EPA,\nOSHA, RCRA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations.\nHands-on experience with hazardous waste management, including\naccumulation, labeling, manifesting, and coordinating waste disposal.\nFamiliarity with chemical inventory management systems and chemical safety\npractices.\nExperience conducting safety inspections (eyewash stations, emergency\nshowers, fire extinguishers) and maintaining inspection records.\nAbility to wear and operate Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and\nother personal protective equipment (PPE).\nStrong organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and\nregulatory documentation.\nEffective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across\ndepartments.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n2-3 years of EHS management experience.\nOSHA 30 general industry, NFPA 70E Arc Flash, HAZWOPER 40-hour\ncertification or equivalent emergency response training.\nExperience with environmental permitting (air, water, waste) and regulatory\nreporting (Tier II, TRI).\nFamiliarity with NFPA codes, fire protection systems, and life safety\nrequirements.\nExperience working with 5S, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement\nmethodologies.\nStrong electrical background, including NFPA 70E program management.\nASP, CSP, CHMM, or other relevant EHS certifications.\n\nIncumbent(s) in this position may be required to perform other duties and special assignments not specifically stated above.
