Chemical Technician | Chemist Laboratory
Job Title - Chemist-Laboratory Job Location - Vernal, UT 84078 Job Duration - 6+ Months Contract Client is seeking a temporary Chemist to support the daily operations of our US Onshore Regional Laboratory. This role is critical to executing analytical laboratory activities that ensure chemical program integrity, support field recommendations, and contribute to product quality and performance. This is a hands-on opportunity to grow your career in a collaborative, safety-first environment where innovation, accuracy, and continuous improvement are highly valued.The Chemist is responsible for performing safe, accurate, and reliable analytical testing within the US Onshore Regional Laboratory. The Chemist supports product quality, data integrity, and timely service delivery through the execution, evaluation, and reporting of laboratory analyses.Working with limited supervision, this role performs routine and non-routine testing, evaluates analytical data, troubleshoots laboratory issues, and ensures compliance with established quality and safety standards. The Chemist contributes to continuous improvement by supporting method optimization, maintaining laboratory readiness, and promoting operational excellence.Key Responsibilities include:Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing in accordance with approved methods and proceduresAccurately document analytical work, observations, and results in laboratory information systems, reports, and recordsEvaluate, verify, and communicate analytical data to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely reportingTroubleshoot analytical, instrumentation, and sample-related issues and implement appropriate corrective actionsMaintain laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and workspaces in safe and operational conditionSupport QA/QC programs, audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiativesPerform risk assessments before assigned tasks to identify and mitigate safety, quality, or operational concernsParticipate in HSE and Quality initiatives and maintain required safety trainingWear appropriate PPE and comply with all HSE policies and proceduresMinimum Qualifications:• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field• 0–2 years of relevant experience in an industrial or research laboratory setting• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow established protocols• Strong communication and documentation skills• A commitment to safety, quality, and teamworkPreferred Qualifications• Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and sample preparation• Experience in oilfield chemistry, chemical manufacturing, or industrial analytical labs• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
