Position Summary
Situated along the stunning Emerald Coast, Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort is a premier destination known for luxury, recreation, and unforgettable guest experiences. As an On-Call Pool Lifeguard, you play a critical role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our guests across our resort pools. This position is ideal for a safety-focused, highly attentive individual who thrives in a dynamic, outdoor hospitality environment and is available to work flexible, as-needed shifts including weekends and holidays.
Essential Responsibilities
Monitor resort pool areas to ensure guest safety and enforce all pool rules and regulations
Provide immediate response and appropriate action in emergency situations
Administer first aid, CPR, and AED assistance as required
Maintain constant surveillance of pool activities and identify potential hazards
Complete incident reports accurately and in a timely manner
Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool deck areas
Provide friendly, professional guest service while maintaining authority and safety standards
Participate in regular safety drills and ongoing training
Required Qualifications
Current Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross or equivalent)
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
Strong swimming skills and rescue techniques
Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations
Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
Availability to work on-call, flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
This position is physically demanding and performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
Ability to work in direct sunlight, high heat, humidity, and occasional rain
Ability to swim continuously and perform water rescues
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
Ability to quickly enter and exit the pool from a standing position
Strong visual and auditory acuity to monitor guests and respond to emergencies
Ability to climb ladders and navigate wet or slippery surfaces safely
Quick reflexes and physical stamina to perform emergency rescues
