Lexington Manufacturing is seeking a Controls & Maintenance Technician to build, design, maintain, and improve control systems and production equipment while supporting a safe, efficient, and high‑performing manufacturing environment.This role combines advanced controls expertise, hands‑on maintenance, and preventive maintenance responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical depth and operational variety.About the RoleThe Controls & Maintenance Technician builds and designs new control systems to improve the function, safety, and reliability of production equipment. This position performs a wide range of maintenance duties requiring a high degree of technical skill and independent problem‑solving.Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery, electrical and control systems, and building maintenance systems. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and documentation standards.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintenancePerform advanced maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment and machineryDiagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical malfunctions, including dismantling equipment as neededClean, adjust, repair, or replace defective components and test equipment for proper operationRespond to emergency callouts and assist with all equipment as necessaryControls, Installation & TroubleshootingDesign, build, and improve machine control and safety systems to enhance reliability and performanceDocument all new or updated control systems, including manuals and schematicsMaintain current PLC and HMI program backupsPerform PLC, RTU, HMI, VFD, ladder logic, and relay logic programming and troubleshootingPerform basic CNC programming and troubleshootingInstall, program, inspect, and adjust electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systemsEnsure equipment operates within established guidelines and update documentation to current revision levelsEnsure CMMS inventory and asset records remain accurate and currentInitiate and complete accurate work ordersServe as liaison with manufacturers, contractors, and vendorsEnsure all systems comply with the National Electrical Code and applicable regulationsIdentify job‑site hazards and strictly adhere to safety standardsOrganize work assignments and manage priorities effectivelyBuilding MaintenancePerform building maintenance including plumbing, mechanical, and electrical repairsSupport dust collector systems, roofing issues, remodeling projects, and equipment/furniture installationPerform general facility upkeep including lighting, filters, belts, and structural componentsPreventive MaintenancePerform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections on:Production and CNC machineryForklifts, cranes, dust collectors, heating and A/C systemsHand tools, extension cords, alarms, exit lights, sprinkler systems, and fire extinguishersEnsure equipment reliability and extended service life through proactive maintenanceAdditional ResponsibilitiesOperate forklifts to move materials, machines, or equipmentHandle, transport, and store hazardous materials (paint, lubricants, cleaners, oils, gas)Follow all company safety policies, work instructions, quality standards, and documentation requirementsMaintain transactional accuracy for material movement and production scheduling systemsContribute ideas for continuous improvement of products, processes, and standardsMinimum & Preferred QualificationsEducation2‑year technical degree and/or 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combinationExperience & SkillsManufacturing maintenance experience strongly preferredExperience with:Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsPLCs, HMIs, VFDs, CNC machinesMachining, welding, plumbing, and general building maintenanceAbility to troubleshoot 110V, 208V, and 480V single‑ and three‑phase circuitsAbility to read and interpret manuals, mechanical blueprints, and electrical/pneumatic schematicsProficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devicesTechnologyProficient in Microsoft OfficeComfortable working with CMMS and other manufacturing software systemsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and stretch for 8–12 hoursAbility to perform repetitive movementsAbility to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted on an occasional basisWorking EnvironmentManufacturing and warehouse environment with loud noise and dust (hearing and eye protection required)Exposure to dirty materials and varied hot/cold temperaturesOccasional exposure to heat, humidity, and paint smellsWhy Join Us?At Lexington Manufacturing, you’ll be part of a team that values safety, teamwork, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement.
