{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"b50fa0d93e50d63f80515cb8","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/b50fa0d93e50d63f80515cb8","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/b50fa0d93e50d63f80515cb8","title":"Application Engineer","description":"Job Title: Application Engineer\nJob Description\nThis engineer will focus on supporting and growing the aftermarket business by developing technical solutions, quotations, and proposals for relines, rebuilds, and upgrades to customer equipment.\nResponsibilities\nWork with customers, direct sales, and sales representatives to discuss, refine, and ultimately sell relines, rebuilds and upgrades to customer equipment\nInteract with the customer and/or sales staff to review equipment specifications and customer requirements to develop accurate proposals/quotes\nPrepare budgetary pricing and abbreviated proposals when requested to help qualify projects before investing greater resources which would be required to generate a detailed proposal with firm pricing\nGenerate detailed and accurate quotations/proposals with lead times to allow customers to purchase equipment\nCreate and maintain accurate and complete proposal templates\nDetermine accurate costs and ensure appropriate selling price based off company margin goals, or as directed otherwise by the Aftermarket Manage or General Manager\nReview quoted/shipped job margins and provides detailed analysis on financials that have variances when requested\nWork with with appropriate personnel in other departments, such as marketing, legal, and engineering, to provide technical information\nProcess purchase orders in ERP (currently AS400/BPCS) system and in Salesforce\nParticipate in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments, technologies, and components\nOccasionally travel to customer sites to review applications or meet with local sales representative and/or Sales staff to discuss projects with customers\nFor projects handled direct (with no outside Sales Representative or Direct Sales Person), they will follow-up with the customer to confirm receipt of proposal, address any questions or concerns, and actively sell the proposed equipment meeting company standards, applicable codes, and customer specifications\nEssential Skills\nBachelor's Degree - Mechanical Engineering\nAbility to read, write and interpret engineering schematics - both mechanical and electrical\nProject Management experience (experience managing their own projects and timelines through completion)\nERP experience\nExperience working directly with customers\nAbility to travel (up to 20%)\nAbility to work independently and on team (verified through references)\n\"Nice to have\" Skills & Qualifications\nExperience creating customer quotes and proposals\nSpecific experience within AS400/BPCS or salesforce ERPs\nWork Environment\nWhen not traveling, the role is primarily office-based, with a typical work week of about 45 hours.\nTravel, up to approximately 20%, is supported and paid for using a company card, and typically involves visiting customer sites, attending meetings, and participating in trade shows or training sessions.\nThe organization designs and manufactures industrial and laboratory ovens and furnaces, as well as environmental temperature cycling and stability test chambers, so the work environment centers on engineered thermal and environmental testing solutions.\nJob Type & Location\nThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, MI.\nPay and Benefits\nThe pay range for this position is $33.66 - $38.47/hr.\nEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
