Come join the AMD team!\r\nThe Person\r\nWe are seeking a Performance Verification and Emulation Engineer with deep expertise in hardware emulation and system level performance verification. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical leadership, clear communication skills, and the ability to independently drive complex performance investigations across globally distributed, multi-site teams.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\n\r\nPerform RTL performance analysis and verification for the Infinity Fabric Interconnect.\r\nProvide technical leadership while collaborating closely with architecture, design, and modeling teams on high-performance SoC memory system designs.\r\nExecute performance verification plans at the IP level and support SoC-level performance debug using both simulation and emulation environments.\r\nDrive emulation-based performance studies, including emulator bring-up and execution of complex, system-level benchmarks.\r\nConduct theoretical analysis of memory system optimizations; develop, run, and analyze benchmarks in simulation and/or emulation environments.\r\nDebug performance failures, identify design bottlenecks, and propose data-driven architectural or RTL solutions.\r\nDevelop and enhance debug infrastructure, tooling, and visualization solutions to accelerate performance analysis and root-cause identification.\r\nLeverage AI-based tools and automation to improve engineering productivity and performance analysis workflows.\r\nMentor and guide junior engineers, contributing to the technical growth and effectiveness of the team.\r\n\r\nPreferred Experience\r\n\r\nProven experience in RTL performance analysis and debug using hardware emulation platforms.\r\nHands-on experience with emulator bring-up, configuration, and development of new performance test cases.\r\nStrong system-level performance debug experience across complex IP interactions, including CPU, GPU, and I/O workloads.\r\nDeep understanding of memory system architecture and interconnect design.\r\nExcellent knowledge of Verilog and SystemVerilog.\r\nWorking knowledge of C, C++, and a scripting language such as Python or Perl.\r\nSolid understanding of multiprocessor coherency, memory ordering, I/O ordering, interrupts, MMU, and cache architectures.\r\nStrong debugging, data analysis, and technical presentation skills.\r\n\r\nAcademic Credentials\r\nBS, MS, or PhD degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
