This position provides support to the Development Department by coordinating individual and group volunteer events, stewarding relationships with individual and corporate volunteers, managing record and distribution of in-kind gifts, generating acknowledgement letters, recording gift and donor information in Raiser’s Edge, assisting with organization-wide events, and providing additional administrative organizational and departmental support, as needed. Furthermore, this role serves as the staff liaison to the Next Generation Board and manages La Casa Norte’s annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon Team.\nPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES\nManage volunteer inquiries, including emailed correspondence, phone calls, and in-person visits.\nPlan, coordinate, and facilitate volunteer activities, including obtaining supplies and managing agency’s monthly volunteer calendar.\nResearch prospective corporate partnerships (such as workplace giving and employee engagement programs) and synthesize findings for the development team.\nWork with Programs Department to identify volunteer and in-kind needs and assist in filling said needs.\nAssist with management of Raisers Edge and other donor and event-related databases.\nRecruit volunteers through a variety of channels, such as volunteer fairs, email campaigns, in-person meetings, and community events.\nAssist with broader Development Department-related fundraising, providing support when needed for Grants and Communications and Special Events and Donor Relations related activities, as needed.\nCoordinate holiday gift-giving program for clients, including working with Programs Department to identify client needs.\nGenerate gift acknowledgement tax letters, including those for volunteer-related activities, in-kind donations, and individual giving.\nAssist with the production and mailing of agency appeals, annual reports, and event invitations, as needed.\nAssist with recruiting runners to represent La Casa Norte in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and support them in meeting their personal fundraising goals, offering guidance on fundraising strategies as needed\nWork closely with the Chair of the Next Generation Board to plan and host meetings, ensuring a meaningful and impactful experience for this group of dedicated volunteers\nAssist with preparation for various Board and committee meetings.\nOther duties as assigned by the Vice President of Development\nQualifications\nMinimum of 2 years of relevant work experience required, including at least 1 year of experience managing volunteers.\nBachelor’s Degree in a human service-related field preferred.\nEnergetic self-starter with ability to well independently and in team settings.\nStrong interpersonal, oral, written, communication, and project management skills.\nProficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).\nFamiliarity with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising software required.\nStrong attention to detail, with analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks concurrently.\nStrong team player, but able to work independently with a \"can-do” attitude.\nIdentify problems, analyze alternatives, and develop viable solutions for projects and assignments.\nManage time effectively and work within strict deadlines.\nExercise good judgment in safeguarding confidential or sensitive information.\nUnderstand written and verbal instructions from multiple management team members to complete assigned tasks accurately.\nProvide effective written and oral communication in an environment requiring diplomacy and good judgment in managing interactions with individuals inside and outside of the organization.\nValid driver's license, proof of auto insurance coverage, and daily access to personal vehicle.\nCompensation and Benefits Package Includes:\nPaid Time Off: 14 vacation days per year.\nPersonal Days: 7 personal days per year\nHolidays: 10 paid holidays annually.\nSick Leave: 6 sick days per year\nHealth Insurance: Medical coverage through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (HMO or PPO options available).\nDental and Vision Insurance: Comprehensive coverage options available.\nRetirement Savings: 403(b) retirement savings plan.\nLife Insurance: $25,000 in basic term life insurance (provided at no cost to the employee).\nDisability Insurance: Long-term disability insurance (provided at no cost to the employee).\nFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA): Options for pre-tax savings on eligible healthcare, transit, and dependent care expenses.\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP): Confidential support and resources for employees.\nBargaining Unit Status:\nThis position is represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), Local 39.\nLa Casa Norte is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
