Here’s a great opportunity for you!\nWhat the Application Engineer does:\nSupport the technical execution of projects, from design to commissioning;\nDefine equipment specifications and parameters according to customer requirements;\nDefine system configurations, review component sizing, perform calculations, and develop technical solutions;\nEnsure the integration of various systems within the project scope;\nAdapt design concepts to the project in progress and participate in product development when necessary;\nSupport all stakeholders involved before and after the design process (Projects, Drafting, Manufacturing, Installation, and Commissioning).\nThe Application Engineer collaborates with:\nMembers of the Engineering team\nProduct Line Managers\nProject Directors\nDrafting team\nManufacturing\nInstallation and Commissioning teams\nTravel requirements:\nTravel to various sites across North America\nNumber/Frequency of trips: 3–5 per year\nDuration of trips: 10–12 days\nMain tasks while traveling:\nTake measurements on existing equipment requiring modification;\nProvide engineering support during equipment start-ups;\nParticipate in meetings with clients.\nRequired qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;\nAdvanced knowledge and use of spoken and written English (essential);\nStrong verbal and written communication skills;\nAutonomy, methodical and rigorous approach, customer satisfaction mindset;\nAbility to work in a team and under pressure;\nStrong technical, interpersonal, and negotiation problem-solving skills;\nProject management skills with proven experience;\nKnowledge of the sawmill industry is a major asset;\nStress tolerance and ability to manage multiple priorities.\nTechnical knowledge\nMachine Elements: 7/10\nManufacturing Processes: 6/10\nExcel: 8/10\nSolidWorks: 7/10\nAutoCAD: 6/10\nFinite Element Calculations: 6/10\nBeing part of the Comact team means much more than a competitive salary and benefits package.
