Their collaborative approach and dedication to client satisfaction have established them as a reliable partner in the industry.RoleThe Estimator is responsible for preparation of all levels of estimates and proposals from start to finish relating to various disciplines that are required to support field and pre-fabrication construction projects. This position will prepare and present lump sum bids, proposals, unit costs and quantities for various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop accurate project estimates and resolve scope or pricing issuesInterface with procurement and operations to align cost estimates with project goals and resourcesAnalyze historical data to improve estimating accuracy and reduce discrepancies between projected and actual costsIdentify cost trends and provide recommendations for process and cost improvementsReview completed projects to assess estimate accuracy and identify areas for refinementEnsure compliance with estimating standards and methodologiesEvaluate project scope, drawings, and specifications for completeness and clarityReview and assess subcontractor and vendor proposals, RFP compliance, and qualificationsPrepare and deliver bid packages, including material and labor pricingParticipate in pre-bid meetings and present estimating strategiesConduct market and labor studies to support pricing decisionsDevelop summary schedules and evaluate indirect costs, fees, contingencies, and escalationIdentify and mitigate project risks through thorough review of plans, specs, and commercial termsMaintain accurate documentation of estimate assumptions and clarificationsSupport value engineering efforts and pricing analysisEnsure compliance with company policies and standardsPerform additional duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience3+ years of direct project estimating experienceProficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Quotesoft, Accubid, Oracle, and PowerBI preferredStrong understanding of estimating techniques, construction disciplines, cost control systems, and company proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized with strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentCapable of working independently or collaboratively, with sound decision-making and creative thinkingWhy People Choose Vision Electric & SystemsAt Vision Electric & Systems, we bring energy, expertise, and innovation to every project we touch.
