THE ROLEWe are seeking an experienced Plant Operations Supervisor to lead the operations at our metals separation facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant operations, particularly in metals processing, recycling, or a related industry. The Plant Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring the efficient and safe processing of materials, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company standards.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIESSupervise and coordinate the daily operations of the metals separation facility, ensuring the efficient and safe processing of materialsMonitor plant performance and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce wasteDevelop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize plant operations and ensure consistent quality standardsLead, train, and motivate a team of operators and support staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvementConduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to support their professional developmentCollaborate with human resources to recruit and retain skilled personnelEnsure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards and environmental guidelinesConduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazardsDevelop and enforce safety protocols and emergency response plansMonitor product quality and make necessary adjustments to processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specificationsInvestigate and resolve any quality issues or customer complaints in a timely mannerMaintain accurate records of production data and quality metricsOversee inventory management, including raw materials, supplies, and finished products, to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize downtimeCollaborate with maintenance staff to ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of equipment and facilitiesManage budgets and control operational costs to achieve financial objectivesPrepare and present regular reports on plant performance, safety, and quality metrics to senior managementFoster effective communication and collaboration with other departments, such as sales, logistics, and maintenance, to support overall plant objectivesAct as a liaison between plant operations and corporate management to align operational strategies with business goalsOther duties as assignedESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial management, or a related field preferredMinimum of 5 years of experience in plant operations, preferably in metals separation or a related industryExperience with metals processing/industrial-scale material handling and conveyance is highly desiredRecycling experience in California is a plusProven supervisory experience with strong leadership and team-building skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on process improvementExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systemsKnowledge of safety regulations and quality management systemsTRAINING TRAVELAbility to travel out of state for temporary training.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTSEnvironmental conditions - Must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. May at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infectionMental demands- Conditions that may lead to mental or emotional fatigue.Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling 25 to 50 poundsClimb on and around equipment and sit for long periods while operating equipmentWalk and stand for long periods of time.Able to climb a minimum of 2 story of stairsMust pass drug screen and physical.
