Scaffold Supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Ensure that all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and metSupervise the subcontracted labor force and coordinate around scheduling conflicts as need arisesKeep up with current and future scaffold material inventory needsContinuous manning tracking, progress reporting, and budget control and updating regularly in the production information in the data systemsMeet deadlines for scaffold requestsMaintain scaffold request system and assign levels of importance to jobsMaintain teams’ mobile equipment in working order and contact United Rentals (or current rental contractor) for issues with equipment and see that it is repaired in a timely mannerOversee that the staging that is being requested is needed and that it’s not possible to use an alternate means to get to the area that was requested, i.e. high reach or scissor liftMaintain a safe and clean working area at all times throughout all tasked locationsPerform other related duties as required and assignedCOMPETENCIESAble to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both verbal and writtenDecision Making/Problem SolvingAdaptability and Organizational skills and understandingConflict resolutionSelf-management, Thoroughness, Flexibility and IntegrityWillingness and ability to work as a team memberSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTYSupervise production workers within his/her teamEducation And Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent At least 5 years’ professional experience: In shipyards with shipbuilding production or ship repair In businesses with manufacturing of heavy steel structures In the erection of scaffolding, handrails and/or stagingSupervisory experience leading production teamsPossess valid OSHA 29 CFR 1926.451 Scaffold Competent Person CertificateOSHA 10 or 30 certification preferredWORK ENVIRONMENTEnvironmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.Hanwha Philly Shipyard is a TOBACCO FREE facility.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
