Project Engineer

Job Description Job PurposeThe Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing certain chamber orders from sales release to shipment. The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, coordination, and oversight throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects. This role ensures that engineering, manufacturing, and installation activities are executed in accordance with project requirements, organizational standards, and applicable regulations. The Project Engineer collaborates with cross‐functional teams to support project planning, design review, execution, and closeout while maintaining a strong focus on product technical specification, quality, schedule, and cost performance.Authority Statement The Job Title listed empowers the Incumbent with the authority to execute all duties and responsibilities listed below. In the event of a conflict of authority, the Incumbent shall elevate to direct supervisor for resolution.Duties and Responsibilities Main customer contact for post-sale activities related to a chamber orderWork directly with the Customer (including 3rd party contractors and integrators) ensuring all specifications have been reviewed, addressed, and agreed uponWork directly with Sales regarding order schedules and contract amendmentsWork directly with Engineering in obtaining drawing approval and design change requests from the customerWork directly with Supply Chain in ensuring parts are delivered on timeWork directly with Production to identify any scheduling delaysWork directly with Test Department on special requirements & testing issuesWork directly with Shipping and Logistics as needed per projectBudget management using Excel and VisualProgress measurement & reporting both internally and with the customerGantt chart timeline development and maintenanceWorks with Production scheduling to find capacity constraints and bottlenecks that may prevent the production schedule staying on time.Systematically finds bottlenecks and leads cross-functionally to remove them from operationsPlays a lead role in meetings with operations leaders to maintain schedule and eliminate bottlenecksReports on monthly projected contribution margin percentageMonitor project progress and prepare technical reports, status updates, and documentation as requiredAssist in identifying project risks and support the development of mitigation strategiesConduct site visits, as needed, to verify work progress, ensure adherence to design standards, and support field issue resolutionEnsure compliance with organizational policies, industry codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirementsLead and participate in project meetings and provide technical input to support decision‐makingSupport project closeout activities, including documentation, testing, commissioning, budget, and lessons‐learned reviewsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline)Demonstrated understanding of engineering principles, and project management practicesProficiency with engineering and project management software tools (e.g., SolidWorks, MS Project, Advanced Excel functions)Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentsAbility to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teamsPreferred QualificationsEngineer‐in‐Training (EIT) certification or progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensurePrior experience supporting engineering projects in relevant industriesExperience working with contractors, vendors, clients, and regulatory agenciesCompetenciesTechnical proficiency and attention to detailEffective communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem‐solving and critical‐thinking abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environmentCommitment to safety, quality, and complianceWorking Conditions*Work is performed in both office and field environmentsMay require travel to project sites, vendor locations, or client facilitiesExposure to construction environments and adherence to safety protocols is required
