Transdev’s Autonomous Specialist’s are critical to the success of delivering safe autonomous driving systems to our customers, enabling a revolutionary mobility experience.\nThe Autonomous Specialist is responsible for operating and evaluating a self-driving vehicle in autonomous mode, including collecting data and providing feedback, and offering ride hail service to the general public.\nKey Responsibilities:\nMaintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle;\nConsistently demonstrate situational awareness, an understanding of the technology in his/her care, and a willingness to constantly adjust to changes in the environment;\nBe the deputy for technology by communicating courteously always with management, engineers, and the public;\nCapable of responding quickly to changing and potentially high-pressure environments;\nWork mostly individually but also in small groups of 2-10 people;\nOperate a vehicle 6-8 hours a day, up to 5 days a week;\nFollow established diagnostic guides to troubleshoot driver support modules; not limited to, but including mobile devices, laptops, and other work devices\nProvide rides in the autonomous vehicle to the general public.\nMonitor multiple software systems with constant focus;\nProvide concise, clear, and accurate verbal and written feedback regarding the vehicle’s operations;\nResponsible for managing the vehicle’s key security process\nComplete daily reports and document procedures and tests.\nInteract with the members of the public in a polite and professional manner, and assist in educating them on self-driving technology when necessary\nOperate autonomous vehicles on both defined and undefined routes, including a variety of environmental conditions.\nOperate onboard data collection systems\nComfortable riding as a passenger in an autonomous vehicle, where the driver may have little control over the vehicle’s operations.\nSafely operates a non-autonomous vehicle while monitoring the location of a driverless vehicle(s) during vehicle recovery operations\nResponsible for the safe recovery of the autonomous vehicle which includes but is not limited to parking safely behind the driverless vehicle, setting up protection, disengaging the self-driving car and driving the car to a safe location.\nApply safety procedures to any situation involving rescue of the self-driving car.\nOversee and ensure the security and importing of disks including accounting of at the beginning and end of shift, and ensuring there is the proper amount of disks needed throughout the day\nWill assist as a POC for client Security and Facilities staff for issues and repairs at remote site(s)\nExercise excellent customer service while assisting passengers of the driverless vehicle to disembark, board the rescue vehicle and safely drive passengers to their destination.\nAssist software progress by testing new features;\nDocument recurring issues of new software and any potential bugs;\nFollow weekly release emails and bug reports to stay up to date;\nWork closely with Operations Supervisor to keep demo documentation accurate and up to date (i.e. create/maintain demo routes and best practices, daily and weekly emails)\nRepresent Client by showcasing self-driving technology to Cleint’s guests in a friendly, concise manner while\nMust be able to work assigned shift\nAll other duties as assigned\nRequired Education and Experience:\nMinimum of 3 years of experience driving on public roads.
